Lisa Woods in Concert

Ms. Woods will sing Broadway and classical tunes. She is a popular operatic and church singer in western and central Massachusetts.

Lisa Woods, mezzo soprano
This season mezzo-soprano Lisa Woods performed the role of Madame Kirsten in Worcester Opera Works production of the new comic one act opera The Beautiful Bridegroom and just recently performed the role of The Housekeeper in Commonwealth Opera's production of Man of La Mancha. She was also a featured soloist in Commonwealth Opera's Gala Guild Concert 'From Broadway to the Met'. Ms. Woods has also performed the role of Giovanna in Commonwealth Opera's 2007 production of Rigoletto and the role of Marcellina in Worcester Opera Works 2007 production of The Marriage of Figaro. She was also the alto soloist for Commonwealth Opera's performance of 'The Messiah' and twice performed the Brahms Alto Rhapsody with the Pioneer Valley Gay Men's Chorus. This fall Lisa can be seen in Commonwealth Opera's production of Madame Butterfly.
Lisa has also performed the role of Abishag in Yose, a new opera by John Cooper, and will be recording 'A Peace Cantata' also composed by Mr. Cooper. Ms. Woods has performed the role of 'Katisha' in the Wilbraham United Players production of the Gilbert and Sullivan opera 'The Mikado' and the role of 'Dame Hannah' in Valley Light Opera's production of the Gilbert and Sullivan opera 'Ruddigore'. She has also performed as soloist and ensemble member with Arcadia Players under the direction of Ian Watson in their performances of 'Messiah'and has been heard as soloist with the Hampshire Choral Society, the Pioneer Valley Symphony, the Pioneer Valley Gay Men's Chorus, the Friends of Music of Guilford and the American Guild of Organists and has also sung the role of Eunice's mother in The Captivation of Eunice Williams. The mezzo-soprano has been presented in numerous recital venues throughout the Pioneer Valley and is a regular quest performer for the Springfield Massachusetts chapter of the Tuesday Morning Music Club. She is currently a student of Maureen O'Flynn, Stockbridge Mass.

Lee Dixon, Accompanist
Lee Dixon began her formal music training with piano lessons at age 4. Her first accompanying assignment was at age 8 for a school chorus in her hometown of Winterset, Iowa. She graduated from Drake University with a degree in Music Education and was a public school music teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area of California and in Westchester County, New York, as well as an Adjunct Professor at Iona College in New Rochelle, New York.
Lee is piano accompanist for the Trillium Ensemble (two classical sopranos and piano) as well as the Berkshire Bach Singers, Stockbridge Festival Chorus, and the Berkshire Children's Chorus. She also serves as Associate Director of the Camerata Chorale (Poughkeepsie, New York) and the Ulster Choral Society (Kingston, New York) and is the rehearsal coach for Quintessential, a professional male quintet in Berkshire County, MA.
Lee also accompanies school choruses and small vocal ensembles, and serves as piano accompanist in the voice studio of Claude Corbeil and Maureen O'Flynn in Stockbridge, MA.
