Sundays at the Center, a monthly SLCA program initiated in 2008, is now in its fifth year. On the first Sunday afternoon of each month, we offer a family-friendly event. However, since the first Sunday in January falls on New Years Day, we have moved the January event to the second Sunday. Our Sunday programs, recognized as some of the best of the Center's diverse offerings, include Circle Theatre Players matinees, concerts, performances, lectures and arts workshops. We suggest that you call us at 518-674-2007 for reservations. This is especially important for the workshops, where space may be limited.

April 1, 1:30pm - Drawing in Perspective with Phil Singer
$5 per person
(adults and kids, seven and up, class limit 20)
Learn about perspective drawing with Phil Singer. This is the third Sunday workshop offered by Jim – Caricature in 2010, Color Theory in 2011, and now perspective drawing. May 6, 1:30pm - Lean to knit with June Kinerson
$5 per person
(adults/kids age nine & up, class limit 8)
Students will learn how to cast on and how to knit and purl. There will be plenty of time to practice. The class is a beginning knitting workshop, but would also provide a good review for people who have had previous experience. June will answer your knitting questions. She will talk about the various size knitting needles, what fiber to use for specific projects, and show some tools which knitters find useful as they hone their knitting skills. Based on this workshop instruction, a beginning knitter could knit a scarf, an afghan, a mug rug (coaster) or a bookmark. An $8 materials fee will give you the needles and wool to get started.

June 3, 1:30pm - Monotype Cards Workshop with Pat Smart
$5 per person
(adults/kids, 10 and up, class limit 16)
Learn an interesting and fun method for card making. Students will make cards with plexiglass plates. The plate is painted with water based printing ink with a palette knife. It is then blotted with tissue and printed on a card using hand pressure. The plate or the tissue can often be used again to print another image on rice paper. The tissue and rice paper images are later glued to additional cards.
